After 25 yrs of h___ I have been 12 yrs free of CH
Nov 18th, 2009 at 2:23pm

I hope this might help some others.
After reading some of the stories of others I can only say I experienced all of the horrors and feel for each and every one of you.
I am 82 yrs old and my CH started when I was 45 yrs old.
12 yrs ago I was having some stomach trouble and my doctor put me on Prevacid to fix my problem. This worked great and cured my problem.
At first I did no recognize that my CH was on hold and restarted after I stopped the Prevacid. My stomach trouble restarted a couple of months later and my doctor suggested that I stay on the Prevacid, which I did. I still did not realize that my CH had stopped. After about 6 months I thought could it be possible, no more CH?
Since then I have been CH free. The only problem is that  the medication stops working in about 6 to 8 months. I change to another brand and it keeps on working. I use the following:  Prescription strength Previcid, Prylosec over the counter and Zantac 300mg.
Everyone is different and what works for me may not work for you. If any of you have good luck with this I would sure like to know that I could have been of help.

If only it were that simple.

I've been on famotidine for years and my head's still f*cked up.

I can't help but wonder if there is even more connection to the blood acidity/alkalinity component often described by Pete.

I have occasionally been able to foresee that I'm entering a high cycle because stomach acid starts to bother me, while it normally isn't a problem.

Remembering that stomach acid reduction does not guarantee blood alkalinity increase, maybe I'll try using litmus tests as Pete has suggested - then track the results of any adjustments I make.

Couldn't hurt to try.

I've been a clusterhead for 39 years but have been headache free for the past 3 1/2 years because I got old.
Maybe the older I get, the more acidic I get.

Oops, just refigured that and it's 4 1/2 years with no episode.  Sum-na-beech!!!!
