They're back! 10yrs free, until this morning.

I had my last cluster in November of 1999. I've made it a full 10 years.
Until...
The beast woke me up at 2am today.  It was about a 7 on the KIP. I have had shadow pain all day. I am dreading what is to come.
My headaches started in July 1995 when I was 17.  They usually lasted a couple of weeks and happened 3 or 4 times a year. I don't know what has kept them away all this time -- but I am so greatful for the break. Now it's time to face the ugly beast again.
It is a comfort knowing you are here. It is hard to explain to co-workers and friends ( as I'm sure you all know )
Wish me luck!

Hi Lisa!

I know what you are going through,and I know that is very hard for your friends, family and co workers to understand. I found this a while back and it really helped, explain to everyone what I was going through. Check it out an pass it on to your friends, family and co workers.

I totally feel for you. 10years, that unbelievable. Some chronics have said that they fear being episodic because it so hard to come to grips with it when they have been gone for so long. My remission is usually a year to 18 months. With chronic it's just a every day part of their life. I fear going chronic, so much, I just shutter the thought of it.  But I've hear chronic people fear going episodic.  I can't imagine going chronic. I have so glad you had 10 years. I pray your cycle is short and k10 free and 9 and 8.

Lisa I hope you read up toot sweet on the latest developments since your last episode.

Some major stuff that occurs to me right off is Hi LPM non-rebreather style O2, Rivea Corymbosa seeds, and if you use Imitrex injections, the "imitrex tip" Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register.

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Hey Lisa;
If it's any consolation to you, I just finished an 8 week episode after a 10 year pain free stint. My CH's started over 40 years ago when I was in high school and were as regular as clock work until 10 years ago when they just stopped. I never did figure out why and I don't know what brought them back. I can say though that this episode lasted a couple of weeks longer than normal, the head aches were a lot less severe than in the past, mostly 4's and 5's and of short duration.
Here's hoping you have the same kind of luck.

Jim
