You hit the highlights/shadows and reflections perfectly on the granite pot and mason/ball jars with a clear connection to the main background.

The texture on the jar lids is superb, which leads my eye to the ladle and its clean shadow lines and the splash on the table.

Portraying real depth (3D) is really tough with a painting like this, but you nailed it.

I’ve always been drawn to your eye for color, and you didn’t miss a beat this time. By maintaining a balance of accuracy without going into “garish overdrive” - subdued just enough to maintain the feel of the whole series, this could sell “standalone” or part of the series.

Hopefully other people have the same great taste that I do!  But seriously, I would be a happy man if I had a small fraction of your talent.

All I can say is WOW! (and wishing I had Marc's talent for art critique....to say it better).

The ladle is especially mesmerizing....seems like you could reach in and pick it up! Wonderful work....

Best,

Jon

I've still an old pot just like that at the cottage for boiling potatoes, spagetti, and stews.  It's an oldie.  Wink    Appetizing kitchen picture, gettin' out the good stuff and ready to roll with the cooking.     Smiley

My eye gravitates to the detail on the jars to highlight the embellishments between the Ball and Atlas canning jars.  Stunning work.  And there is one pepper in that far right jar that leads the eye to see the internal curve inside.  Brings the mind to see inside the jar as well as the work as a whole.

Jenn, the more you paint, the deeper you delve into your subject.  I'm in awe as usual......

fantastic work. I went to school for graphic design and I spent countless hours on illustrator and photoshop to get effects like this. This was painted correct?  Again fantastic work.
