No you didn't..
Nov 24th, 2009 at 7:11pm

Vent...

I just got off the phone with my sister-in-law.  Man! Why so combative?

I visited her at the shop she works at to ask about Thanksgiving dinner, what to bring on Saturday.  She mentioned what she likes to make and I said that would be great and I would get back to her.

I saw my brother and mentioned that what she offered was gonna work out, and put her down for those. (I guess I should of told her)

She just rang me and said "I don't know if Oliver (brother) is wrong or if your mistaking me for someone else, but I didn't say I was making anything yet." I relayed what she said at the shop and she still insisted that she didn't agree on anything.  And that I must of been confused, since your sick right now, and indicated my medicine. Shocked

OMG.  I'm not drugged!

I was speechless, then she agreed to those items, like she was going along with my craziness, nothing more she could do....

I cried  Cry, I'm a little emotional right now, CH's make a bit sad, and that didn't help.

Sorry for the Holiday Bummer story,
Angela

SISTERS!!!
My sister recently introduced me to someone new, and said " This is my sister....she's on medication, that is why she seems so subdued"   WHAAA!
I really was my ol self too.
Funny how people interpret your medication....like your on some heavy drug, that makes you some kind of zombie or something..ha ha
shake it off, and have a great thanksgiving Smiley
she obviously don't get it!   Cheesy

Hi Angela,

Not a bummer at all...we understand...been there. Folks just don't get it...never will without first hand experience...and i don't wish ch on the worst of the worst. You can only show your resilience and hope
a tiny sliver of compassion will break through.

It's not just ch either...with my own "other" illness i have experienced what I can only describe as an amusing...."hey, you're a dead man walking" shock reaction...roll with it sister.

Delighted to see you posting again....hoping you will find it in your heart to forgive my previous transgressions....I WAS trying to help.

Best,

Jon

I don't recall needing to forgive you...?  Was it last year?

You weren't that one guy the other night... Wink  JK

What ever it was, water under the bridge.  Thank you for the kind words Jon,
Angela

Isn't it funny how the little things can suddenly become huge because they reveal someon elses thinking - or our perception of it.

Has she ever seen you get hit or had the severity of it described to her? Given the pain I've seen other's endure (and I'm sure I exhibit the same) I would be expecting them to be given horse pills to take away that pain. I'm hoping she only meant it in a good way out of concern for you but knowing sisters.. who knows?!  My own sister is a peach too - well the stone in the middle at any rate!

Just remember, your family are people you're stuck with, you don't choose them (except for this family and you ARE a part of it!)

You have enough burdens with CH, don't look to carry more honeybun. If that is her perception so be it, it's her loss not yours. You just go your own sweet way and when it comes time to do the cleaning up "remind" her she volunteered and play the "medication game" your way! She'll soon wise up! Wink

Happy Thanksgiving no matter what and I hope that it's pain free

Helen

I feel much better.  I'm letting it roll off and away.  I'm just gonna play the crazy-medication person this thanksgiving at dinner (move over Uncle Lars, it's my turn this year).  Smiley

Sorry angela, like Helen said don't take on any  more burdens. CH's are plenty. Untill my previous father inlaw saw me in pain. He never got it nor has anyone I've even explained it too. I even tried  Helen's suggestion of explaining it   (a neurological disease where vascular dialation in the brain occurs, crushing the nerves.) (I think i got it right) most people still think headache. Since most of us take many crazy drugs for a "headache" then we are "crazy people". "Oh well i say". I'll take this crazy family at ch.com anyday of the week. Because for once I don't have to explain myself.Don't get me wrong I love my family to death but  very few of my family get it. Only a few have witnessed an attach. These seem to get it then.  Smiley

be well angel. I hope you pain is not to bad. I pray you  relief.

I always wish I could stop time at those times stuff like this happens. Go to my car, drive a bit and figure out what to say, then come back. I always find so many hilarious ways to continue, unfortunately always after the fact...

But in your case I can see several funny ways you could have proceeded.
1. Agree with her and blame everything on your brother. Hahah, stick it to the brother!
2. Actually acknowledge that you are a bit unsure of who she is, blame it on the meds.
3. Start claiming that she signed up for entirely different dishes.

All of the above could become quite funny. I like your plan with being playing the crazy woman.  Cheesy

Didn't need to pull the crazy card. Shocked

When I wake, that is my time I usually get a CH.
I was doing great, I think I was too busy to let a headache settle into in my head.  Every time i slowed down, I felt a twinge of a shadow.

Finally, when it was time to eat, I stopped moving, and kip 3 headache snuck in.  Through dinner, I realized how loud and boisterous my family is.  I've been told I am the loudest  Wink.  Oh Lordy! I was just barely hanging in through dinner.  Then up, right to the O2, 2 minutes, and then Golden!! Cool

I have friends over now, we are chillen, watching Hockey, and red beers!!

My wife came down with bronchitis and was unable to travel to Iowa to our family's Thanksgiving get together, so we stayed home.  Sent all of the kids, and just the two of us, and even with her sick and eating Chicken Noodle soup from a can for Thanksgiving dinner I was relieved to not be around family.

Please don't think I love my family, because I do and usually would drive any distance to be there, but this year have had so much going and the head kicking in again a bit it was to much.  Peace and quiet around the house for the last two days has been wonderful!  I'll see my son and his new wife Sun morning for breakfast as they are passing through back to SC, with Linda if she is up to it, but the rest of them can wait this year.

This is the only family I need right now.
