Dec 2nd, 2009 at 4:18pm

Is it normal for heart rate to go way down during an attack.?
When I get my headaches my heartrate is sooo slow.
I have stopped the imitrex this time around because i feel the headaches after the imitrex are much worse..

I'm not sure about the heart rate.  I do know that my body temp goes down.  I sometime shiver uncontrollably during and just after an attack.  Are you taking Verapamil?  My heart rate is slower during a cycle because of it.  I have never noticed if it changes during a hit or not.

You are right about the Imitrex.  It causes rebound HA's.

I had the same problem with the imitrex and the rebound headaches-and they were more intense than when I started the imitrex.

I'm doing good on Trixamet atm. I usually get 3-5 days break in between bad hits(worse than a kip 5), but there have been times when I get hit the next day and have to take another pill. I still get shadows regularly though.

I'm not sure about my heart rate, but I get hit hardest at night, and I end up in a pool of sweat before it subsides.

Yes.

It is one of many potential symptoms with CH's: Bradycardia. At first it worried me, until my Neuro and Cardio agreed that it was caused by high level CH's.

My pulse and BP are normal, but I drop to about 49-50 BPM when in the grips of a real honest to goodness K10.  Doesn't happen short of that and comes right back to normal immediately when the pain subsides. I had this before I knew about any meds, so it wasn't caused by a drug.

I also get the severe bloodshot/swollen eye that runs like a faucet along with my nose while I soak my shirt in sweat even when sitting in snow barefoot in a T shirt - not I'm not kidding - I've done it.

Fortunately with high flow O2 therapy, I haven't had one of those in a long time. Life is good!

I've never thought to check my pulserate during a knockdown-dragout 10kip party.  But I've always thought that a sudden decrease in pulserate, such as immediately after excercise, can be a trigger for a bad one.

Trex gives me re-bound hell like some of the others.. Avoid it.

By all means get o2, and learn to use it. This will let you get your life back. I use welding M tank and a welders regulator with the torch hoses set for just o2. I weld as part of my earnings.

The key is at first sign a CH will come, which I assume you know, is to get on o2 asap..

No drowing effect from trex, no after effect groggies, no nuthin, till next time, except maybe loss of sleep.

As I see things there is no reason to not have instant access to o2, for anyone posting here.
