Has anyone else had a problem?

Getting Windows 7 upgrade from HP?

I've bought two computers this year with the agreement that when Windows 7 came out that I would get the upgrade and get rid of Vista (thank goodness!!!!).  It came out Oct 22, and I applied immediately... I'm still waiting.... and waiting.....

Seems they turned it over to this other company and they can't get their act together.

Ya'll know I"m not too "literate" on computers, so I faxed them what they needed and two weeks later they said they hadn't gotten it and gave me an ALTERNATE fax number  -- so I FAXED it again -- it seems they STILL haven't gotten it...

So I call the idiots to see where all my faxes are going. This idiot on the phone tells me the fax machine is in the other end of the building. I "sorta" lost it and asked if it was a problem finding the damn fax machine after SIX WEEKS! He HUNG UP on me!!!!

So I figured out how to scan the damn things and tried to UPLOAD the info to them -- Got a message -- the file was too large (ONE DAMN PAGE!!)

Now I'm resorting to SNAIL MAIL (CERTIFIED - they can't say they didn't sign for the damn thing if I have a signature!). With a nasty letter of course and a copy to HP telling them what I think of their OURSOURCING of this.

In the meantime, I've PURCHASED a copy of Windows 7 and am real happy to be rid of Vista.

I wonder how many people have just given up with these idiots? How damn hard is it to get an order out in SIX WEEKS?

Anyhow... I needed to vent on that one. My BP went WAAAY up yesterday when that little jerk hung up on me...

Sorry you went through that Barb.  The customer service now a days just aint what it used to be.  Hanging up on a customer is just a big no no.  Did they speak english?  lol  if so at least half your battle was won.  I think I will wait to upgrade now until they settle down a bit and get some issues in customer service and some bugs out of 7 worked out.

Before going to Windows 7, make sure all the 3rd party software you use supports Win7 and also your printer drivers are supported. In general, if Vista was supported, they should be, but always good to know ahead of time.

So far so good. I had to get my tax programs set up NOW, so I had to get everything installed and working for the end of the year (we have to start early ya know). The only program I haven't gotten to work is my mailing list and it's old as dirt so I just got a new one that is up to date - I just have to input my names again - ho hummmm.  Oh well, it keeps me off the streets and it's really easier to work than the old program.

Printers are doing fine. I'm a LOT happier with W-7 -- Vista gave me a headache.

Maybe I'll get the upgrade for my laptop sometime next year. I really don't do a lot on it except kill mobsters... LOL!

I was going thru the same thing you were Barb after a week, I put the Linux DVD in and booted the machine and said to hell with it. I don't have your patience. I just want my computer to do what I tell it. I put up with MS only so long as I don't get any grief. The HP with Vista actually ran just fine, until just recently and I decided it was time to upgrade. Big mistake, I should have saved myself a week of aggravation.
