My NEW neuro....
Dec 14th, 2009 at 6:03pm

Lets just say i'm THRILLED to death.  I finally found the right neurologist.  My last neuro pretty much only wanted to hear himself and not ME.  This new guy is a pain management specialists in addition to a neuro.  Here are some things that made me VERY happy:

We went through the typical medical history of me and my family and then in depth of my clusters, how long i've gotten them, what I have been taking, what tests have been performed etc...

I told him my regiment of drugs and therapy.  Then I got to the  grey area most have with their docs which is psychedelics. What blew me away is that I said I do one treatment that he probably wouldn't condone which was dosing with LSA and Psilocybin and he said, "oh, morning glories".  I was like, "yeah", but rc seeds in particular.  He knew all about the studies being done at Harvard and was totally supporting it as a preventative therapy.  I was stunned, but extremely happy to hear that he supports this and wasn't closed minded like my last neuro.

Now, I never got an MRI, EEG done years ago when diagnosed so I have to do those tests like any new patient would.

In addition he was at some workshop trying to push insurance companies to cover O2 for cluster patients.  Needless to say I have my O2 script so I should be set for my next cycle.

Has anyone else had an "open" minded neuro that supports using LSA?

All the best!

Chad

After a very long Q & A period, my Neuro wanted to hear more about my experiences with RC & HBWR seeds. I gave him a rapid fire synopsis beginning with what I read in Dr. Hoffman's book going through the early days on this board to current research.

He commented that he had other CH patients talking about them but no one had clearly made a good case for it. When I finished answering several detailed questions like: "What abut toxicity?", he simply said: "That's fascinating"

We probably spent 20 of the 45 minute visit on this subject. YES, it's good to find a doctor who really wants to work with you.

Marc,

It's nice to see your doc is open minded as well.
