Still changing. I think the Trixamet ticked it off, royally. I'm leaning toward some sort of rebound HA at this time.

Today it hit hard and fast(what I not so affectionately call a tweaker). Not fun. But luckily it was short.

Rebound headaches occur with prolonged usage of analgesics, not occasional use of Triptans.

But, after many years of trying all of the Triptans many, many times: For me (and maybe me only) Imitrex which is in Treximet causes me to have more hits. Of this I am quite sure.

Marc

I was on the imitrex before the trixamet. The rebounds were worse than any of the regular CH's I've ever had. I actually passed out a few times during the worst one. Maybe the rebounds(if thats what is going on) are mild with the trixamet due to the aleve in it.

It could still be changing. I haven't taken any Rx meds for 9 days as I'm prepping to bust(soon as my cajones drop) and I actually had 2 PF days, but now they've come back. Keeping at a k3 or below(tonight's the worse one)...

The unpredictability truly sucks. It drives me insane sometimes, and I don't have far to go.  Wink

I don't think it's true for everyone who uses trex, but for me, trex took my episodic CH and took away the clockwork hits, and made the hits far more frequent and far more intense.  Dr. Tepper from the New England Center for Headache even wrote in the letter of evaluation that he was of the opinion that trex was the cause of my turning chronic.

At the time, I didn't care, I just had to do another shot and the pain was gone.  However, I have a cardiac condition, coronary artery spasms, and found myself hospitalized 3 times because of cardiac related issues - I didn't care about the chance I was taking using trex, figuring that was better than a bullet to the brains;  The cardiologist explained to me that I wouldn't have a heart attack, I would go into full arterial spasm and have a massive coronary and drop dead if I didn't stop the trex.

I stopped, since I couldn't get it prescribed any more, and those following weeks were hell.  The use of trex made things much much worse, and I wouldn't want to go through the post triptan phase of CH again...

I hope you can find an answer to the side switching.  But you most definitely want to get O2 as soon as you possibly can.  It works extremely well with the busting efforts - or so I've heard Wink

I'm episodic, and every episode is the opposite side. I've had 6 episodes now, and 3 have been on the left and 3 on the right... but I've never experienced it changing sides in a cycle.

I do know that I get sharp pains on both sides and sometimes feel shadows on both sides, but when the real CH comes its just on the one side.

I hope you figure it out.  Huh

Suffered from CH for 13 years when Migraines turned nasty into CH. Tried O2 - releaves the pain but doesn't break the cycle/hit. Lived on Imigrain injection, nasal spray and tablets during cycles, 2 x /yr. Used Morphine, Pethidine, Cortisone, O2, Block (injection administered at base of skull), Calcium Blockers, Beta Blockers, head banging etc. none could break the cycle.

OUT OF UTTER DESPERATION I ONE DAY TOOK OMEGA 3 CAPSULES. 3 CAPSULES 3 X/DAY. AFTER DAY 4 THE CYCLE WAS BROKEN AND HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 21 MONTHS! NOT EVEN A SHADOW IN 21 MONTHS!

Don't confuse possible causation with correlation.
