I shoot my upper arm.  Don't use the full dose.  2 mg of the shot should do it, check out the imitrex (imigrian) tip on the side menu.

Doing it yourself is less painful (i think so, I thought it would of been worse).

Belly! Just pinch an inch or so of the abdomen off to the side of the navel and inject there for your least painful spot. I read about it here and am not alone in preferring it.

I used to use the auto injector in arm or leg and it hurts I know.  Sad

Now I'm following the "Imitrex tip" that hopefully shows up there on the left of your forum view, I never use the auto injector, and I don't even flinch, cringe or hesitate to inject.

3 mg (a half injection dose) is a bit more reliable than 2 mg for me, but maybe thats a difference between the fellas and the ladies.  Tongue

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Belly for stat dose pens! Those bastards leave a knot in my thigh or arm.  I use 30 gauge needles because i get my meds n vials, so for me..its no longer a prob. I generally use half a dose as well. (but for some stupid reason i took a whole pill at bedtime the other day. dunno wtf i did that? but ill have to say it did take care of the shadows and no hits that night  Cheesy)

Which hurts less? A jab in the belly fat or your head?

I've often thought that if it would work faster, I'd  jab an injection in my eye!  A few seconds in the belly is nothing compared to the pain you are feeling in your head.  It'll  be worth the relief for now.       GET the 02!!! It works!

Best,

Jeannie

I have to agree with Brew. Once it passes Kip 5 I could not care less what is happening to the rest of my body.

As a kid I had to go through two bone marrow biopsies. One from sternum and one from hip. The trocar (needle) was about 1/8 inch in diameter and it had to be pushed through the bone! No anaesthesia. I still remember the startled look on that surgeon's face. He could not believe a 9 year old boy refused to shed a single tear, let alone cry. For me it was a matter of pride. Brave boys never cry.

Nowadays when Kip 9 strikes the third time in 6 hours I cannot control myself any more. I scream and cry even in front of my 12 y/o daughter. I would give anything to avoid her witnessing it but the level of pain intensity is just too much.

I am sorry if I sound like ranting. We are here to help each other. The belly trick is actually good advice. My point is that in comparison to the 5 minutes of dancing with the beast I would take 1000X stronger jab than imitrex injection if it brings relief.
