Yes, some refer to it as the "Chronic Cocktail". I know Brew will use both when he's getting really slammed. I'm fortunate in that lithium on its own is a very effective prevent for me.

Yes,it can be taken together.

Hubby took it every day, in high doses, for over 15 years.

Be patient with the lithium, takes about 10-14 days to get up and running as a prevent for me. And get ready to get up to pee 5 times a night for the first week or two! Grin

Yes, I’ve been at 1200mg Lithium Carbonate and 720mg Verapamil daily for a decade or so.  I’ve tried numerous preventatives over the years but this combination has consistently proven to be the most effective at providing some control over this nightmare.

Work with your Neurologist to establish the most effective levels and med. schedule for you.  It may take some work/time to get consistent results.  Clearly (like just about everything else we take) it doesn't work for everyone.

Good Luck,

Would the owner of the propane torch, egg beater, pipe expander and vise grips please claim these items. They're lodged in my head and I need the space.
