1 month on meds is my cycle over?
Jan 12th, 2010 at 5:31am

My cycles have always started around mid Dec. and run for 6 to 8 weeks. I'm 4 weeks into the cycle today.

Heres the thing... I have in recent years done pred tapers only. I now realize that what I have really been doing is abusing the pred... not tapering, taking more and more until the pain stops or the cycle eventually ends.

Now you all have introduced me to cafergot which has been working well. in fact I was prescribed two at onset of attack and have never taken more than one. No attacks or shadows.

I have taken one per day (at night when 1st hit begins) and they have stopped every one sof far (1 1/2 weeks) I've been able to work and sleep!

Today and tomorrow I'm off so I decided even if I get hit, no more cafergot, at least for the 2 days off. I'm scared that as long as I continue with vasoconstrictors the cycle will continue. Sort of lying in wait.

So far so good, but it's time to go to sleep?!

Any thoughts??

I've been using vasoconstrictors forever, and for me they don't just cause a cycle to continue on indefinitely.

I just use them (and O2, preventative, etc.) until the cycle stops, and it definitely does stop.

Personally I wouldn't intentionally put myself thru some unrelieved hits for just about any reason, definitely not that one.

YMMV of course.

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.
