Sweet or savoury
Feb 27th, 2010 at 8:53pm

I can talk about her now she’s gone to bed,
Garlic… Garlic… Garlic…
I hate the stuff and it sure isn’t sociable, but how do you tell someone they stink of the stuff….
Perhaps it’s me and maybe I’m stuck in some sort of foodie time warp but Garlic is the rear end of food civilisation as far as I’m concerned…
Ohooooeeee what a niff
What do you think folks

I disagree.

Garlic is one of the few things that's not only tasty but healthy too.

Well, at least you can be relatively certain that you are not living with a vampire.

One less thing to worry about.   Wink

Best,

Garlic is the 6th food group as far as I am concerned, just do not think I could live without it. I mean come on how could you live without garlic bread?
Yes it gives you really bad breath but as long as you make sure the one you are with eats the garlic as well, well then problem solved.  Grin

But you both have to actually enjoy it if you're both going to eat it, no?

The Italian and the French use a ton of garlic.

Known as the Romance languages...hmmm nuff said. Wink

Garlic is an aphrodisiac in my humble opinion.   Cool

But Colin stated that he hates the stuff. Doesn't make much sense to recommend that both parties eat it if one doesn't like it.

Years aside sewage of a 1294 Crusade prison, months of vagrant treks and shipbottom stowaway to arrive again in England as displaced Moorish companion to an updated Robin Hood, prince of thieves, this discerning of telltale air also allows quips of an updated nature as protection from the rear attack of ragged thugs.

"No man controls my destiny.  Especially one who attacks downwind and stinks of garlic."

Apparently there would have been no other distinguishing smell or perhaps the chic one among them.  Wink

Such sweet and savory scented allure would have disclosed the rebellious within the enclave of Sherwood, even as Marion's gift to Robin to please add it to the table and save some to have Little John wash in.  Prince John planned to withhold roll-ons and gels from the Saxons, they've not felt the Mediterranean heat of his rule quite yet.

I must have lingered too long on Carolyn's "damn it all" campfire thread.

For those that love Garlic as I do and my entire family, I think we have perfected the making of Garlic bread. First melt butter in a frying pan and add crushed garlic and let simmer for about five or ten minutes. Then take the loaf of extra sour dough bread and cut it down the center long ways then use the broiler to toast it to a golden brown, be careful very easy to burn the bread. Once the bread is golden brown use a big spoon to add the butter and garlic to the top of the break then cut and server. By doing it this way the bread stays crispy and not soggy and man is it good my mouth is watering right now just typing this. Grin

Garlic Bread…
The thing about Garlic is it gets into the minds of the users, yes I say users coz it’s the same as heroin or coke (do I sound hip here) a rubber band around the arm and a baguette and you’re anyone’s.
Dragon breath is the thought when talking to a Garlic chomping user.
Tis impossible to talk to the aftermath of use unless with a slightly incontinence verve of the head with the pretence of (pooo god god what a niff)
Got something in my eye, swerve.
Come on people what a stink.
You would think twice about any tonsil tennis unless you were really drunk.

Kevin
tis a pity thee see this as a quest for enlightenment to the world of words and imagination coz thou seem to have the tones of a man beheld in deepest thought in what they say before thee.
The coupling of two entities of mutual thought that are not bounded by domain seem explicably drawn.

Do they still make roll on garlic?

My father's idea of garlic bread was the roll on. I haven't see the stuff in 40 years.

I thought roll on was something for under your armpit
Charlie, you know as a deoderant.
Then again... Garlic for underarm and around the nether region wipes, might appeal to some.
Could be a little sore if not carefull.

I'm surprised this hasn't popped up on some kinky site.......not that I know much about such things of course....... Roll Eyes

While you Brits were coming up with the Beatles, Americans began the 60s with roll on garlic.

I wish I knew who made the stuff. Maybe I could find history of it on line somewhere.

Naturally there were jokes about being careful  not confuse it with your "Ban."

The conversation on this thread reminds me of a line from the movie Bull Durham.

It's like a Martian talking to a fungo.
