My poor old pooch.
Mar 2nd, 2010 at 6:53pm

I was feeling a little peckish and stood buttering a bit of malt loaf...
Henry my faithful hound stood over me looking as if he’d never been fed.
I did think for a moment, you poor old thing and lavished the buttered loaf to his drooling chops which brought back the memory of the morning before?
It began with a trip to the vets with Henry of course, don’t know if I’d mentioned it before but he has a heart problem that we treat him for it.
Anyway some thing else happened as you find with most dog owners and we had to take him again.

“Can you take a water sample?”
“You just put this under him when he wee’s”

Anyway, 6.30 in the morning I’m trying to follow him with a bit of yellow plastic funnel stuck to a sample tube trying to catch the elusive nectar every time he cocks his leg.
I did get a somewhat perfect sample but as I held it he walked over it and was gone.
The language was pretty blue and there was a moment where it was close too squeezing him like a bagpipe.
After my control had resumed so did the chase.
Fortunately after a glance of disgust from the dog, a sample, all be it miniscule was obtained.
The only thing positive was at least the wee was warm on a cold February morning.

This reminds me of part of my job where I followed pooches around in the runs at the animal hospital where I worked, if the Doc wasn't interested in collecting on the table. It was one of those places where one got in some serious dancing practice side-stepping all the little deposits left by furry friends.

Great story Cav.

After shouting at my pooch and eventually giving him a nudge.....

Another heart attack avoided.
