Sunset and a cigarette
Mar 7th, 2010 at 6:45pm

The wind blew and the streets were in darkness.
The street lights had not come on with their usual promptness
The light pollution had disappeared and I was bathed in the diluted solar wind.
I stood with the celestial mechanics of the world upon me.
“You got a light”
“I focused.”
The green photons of life glowed around me.
“No”
“Sorry”
For a moment I felt for the used to be reassuring hardness in my pocket, but no more.
“No nectar filled sticks of the past”
“He was gone in a muttering of contempt”
F…. you too you tramp I yelled, perhaps waiting for the consequence... but not to be…
Oh well perhaps the magic will happen again when some arsehole doesn’t want a light.
