Teresa posted on Facebook: sorry it took so long to let everyone know - Mom is doing great. The surgeon was very happy with how everything went - it was a late night and I didn't have any internet connection to update. Sorry!

Hi all...sorry I didn't get on last night to update. The day was a bit crazy -

6-8 hour surgery ended up taking closer to 10-11 hours. Mom's in pain (which I would say probably is expected after that kind of a surgery), but we can be thankful that it should be a temporary pain. I have discovered that it is absolutely no fun to spend 16.5 hours in a hospital...with 15.5 of those hours being in waiting rooms. But they did an excellent job of keeping us updated, with a nurse calling from the operating room every 2 hours and the surgeon coming out to chat with us after all was done. Sounds like everything went really well and, as the surgeon said, these joints should last at least 22 years (practically a lifetime, at least from my perspective! Smiley ).

Thank you so much for all of the prayers and good vibes. I know Mom, me and the rest of the family are so grateful and humbled to have such an amazing, loving, caring "other" family in everyone here.
