Hi all, I'm a 41 year old englishman (although I still a boy at heart) living in the south of France.

I've been suffering from episodic cluster headaches since I was 16 and I know the pain you all go through.

My episodes come every 18 months and last for 8 weeks. At the worst moments I have counted 10 attacks in a day lasting 40 minutes each. Sometimes the attacks would only ebb and flow giving the impression of a continuous attack lasting for up to 3 hours. I treat them with vermapamil and imiject.

Before I found imiject I was absolutely distraught with fear as I could see no way to carrying on the misery.

I will take this opportunity to thank you at CH.com for the tip I got here a few years ago about splitting the imiject doses so as to make them go further. This has definitely helped me immensely.

Anyway, I'm here now because my demonic old friend is coming back to play. He gave me fore warning at 5:30 yesterday morning. So in preparation (apart from lining up the needles) I had a quick look on the inernet to see if any new treatments had been found and I stumbled across psysill sillypsyco... magic mushrooms!

Now I've never tried anything like that before so I feel a certain anxiety about it because if I thought it would work I woudn't hesitate, but I don't quite know what to expect.

For now I'm going to trawl throught the site and see what others have experienced.

Thanks again.
Alastair

Hi and welcome Alistar,

Here is the clusterbusters link that you can go to get excellent answer to magic mushrooms.  You will find testimonies of immense help from this drug.  Some have estimated success rates of 75to 80%

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

I'm happy to hear you are Verapamil and Imitrex.  They are Godsends for sure but you don't mention oxygen.  Oxygen is used around here as a marvelous abortive for so many.  If I can get on it at the first twinge...I can abort a headache in as little as 10 mins.

There is a yellow link to the left of where you are reading this right now   OXYGEN INFO.  Click on it and read read read.  You will need a script from a physician, but there are ways around that too if you happen to get the wrong Dr. who refuses to let you have it, for reasons none of us here can comprehend.  02 is safe, cheap, has no side-effects like Imitrex can sometimes have and it works.

Thanks for the replies. I did try oxgen a few years back, as the pain got worse I increased the flow until I was above what had been proscribed. Unfortunatly it had no effect. At least I mean I was no longer able to remain seated after about fifteen minutes and had resorted to the usual small paces from one end of the room to the other while simultaneously praying to God for help and swearing to the devil that that he would not break me. To top it all I'm agnostic the rest of the time!

Definitely hit the Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register website Alastair.  A ton of good info there.  Count me as one who has seen the fungal light and if we adhere to the precautions, believe it will be the future of Cluster medications (the other psychoactive plants as well.)

A very low dose can abort many people's cycle in the oncoming shadow phase.  If you wait too long to start then people have been upping the dose and doses to stop the cycle.

Between the website and any friends who like to trip a little you should be able to put together a safe and effective dose.  I was in my forties and had never tried them before finding out about the CH connection.  Now I swear by the natural medicine with no known side effects.

Good luck!

Hey Alastair,

That is an important point that Shaggy makes about only a low sub hallucinogenic dose being the order of the day with the  psysill sillypsyco... magic mushrooms  Grin, so you may not have to bother with much anxiety about it - if you can even get your hands on any.

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.
