Blue Heelers

Out at my Brother in law’s ranch, they have a variety of working dogs to perform different functions. German Shepherds keep an eye on the gate, the house/driveway. A trio of Rottie's make sure that the coyote's don't bother the duck and geese in the ponds. Some kinda little furry dogs live inside.

Australian Blue Heelers are on herding duty. Now I understand why they call them "Cow Dogs" around here.

Always have liked Heelers.  The ones I've met are all business.

Lots of them around here on area ranches.

Best,

George

Cute pics!  Smiley  I love working dogs!  Since I lost mine, the moles have returned in droves and the muskrats are destroying the lake.  I miss Zorro so much. Sad

P'raps so, Marc, and they're bloody good workers but I beg for your own safety that you never call them a "cow dog" here in Oz.

Fair dinkum, they'd cut your water off.

OK,

Since this is the second or third thread lately to indulge us dog-lovers, I figure I'll post a link showing ours.

This is a very OLD site, and was originally commercial in nature, but between hurricanes, work commitments, and some major home renovation projects, we haven't been breeding our dogs for several years - just never did take the site down.

Many of the links are no longer active, but be sure and check out "All About Missy"  Smiley  Here's the site:  Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Nice Heelers! Gorgeous markings.

Mine's a Catahoula...a working/herding dog as well. He has some Lab in there as well, but mostly Catahoula.

His name is Trigger.

Smiley Yeah, there is that.

Best,

P.S.--My brother-in-law's dog is a Catahoula.  His name is Kramer.  Attached a pic of him down below.

When our old shepard mix got old (she had long white fur), we added a new puppy that was 1/2 blue heeler and 1/2 border collie.  She constantly nipped at the older dogs hind paws and tail.  Had the poor old dog going in circles till we finally separated them.

LOL You have to love herding dogs. Trigger herds my 2 year old son back to the porch all the time. He also nips at my wife's  feet...just her, nobody else.
