Could use some vibes right about now folks.
May 12th, 2010 at 4:22pm

Most of you know my SUNCT is not the same as CH but a close relative.
So I go through this constant pain 24 hours a day for months and months 15 and counting right now, so when I get a week of only being at a 1 or 2 all week you think that would be a good thing and don’t get me wrong I love it when it happens but it is the aftermath that I am dealing with right now that I do not like. The headache jumped back up to its normal average of bouncing around a 4 or 5 most of the time and I find myself just being really pissed off and then depressed and just bouncing back and forth between them. I just don’t get it, I know when I have a good few days that I am going to pay for it, that is how it normally works with my SUNCT this time I have been lucky and did not go right to a 9 like normal and just went back to my brain numbing 4 – 5 level. Sorry guys it is just getting the better of me right now, I am just so friggen tired of being in pain 24 hours a day and just want this to go away and give me my year off before it starts again, assuming this cycle will ever end. I guess that is a big part of my fear, my first cycle was a year the second two years and now I am past a year and still going and what happens if it never ends? How will I live my life with constant pain? Yes I know there are people out there that do live with it I just do not want to be one of them, I tell myself over and over again that it will go away and I will get about a year off and that is what I live for but the fear is always there that it won’t go away and it scares the hell out of me.

Bless your heart...I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time.

Now....I'm not a sufferer but am a long time supporter.  My hubby, Blake, was chronic for 15 years.

We always handled it with hope for tomorrow....better days ahead so to speak.  If today is bad then we hope for a better tomorrow.  Should tomorrow not be all that good then maybe it's the next day.  Sometimes hope and faith is what we need to keep going.

We do understand.  Constant pain leaves a person worn out and depressed.  It can make your nerves raw and leave one irritable.

Keep the faith, Sweetie....and hope for a better tomorrow.  Hugs are good too and I'm betting you know where to get one. Smiley

Thanks guys, I have a great woman at home and I plan on giving her a very big hug when she gets home from work tonight, she is the best thing in my life right now and gives me the strength to get through each day. Just have to snap out of it and concentrate on the positive things I have going and try and put the pain out of my thoughts for a while if I can.

Damn.  Angry

Sorry that this thing has such a grip on you. I had no such experience, only some visits like most of us over the years.

Here's hoping that yours will develop into something that can be better dealt with.

I wish I had more for you but to say keep fighting and know that we're all on your side.

Got home last night after work and laid down for a couple hours then we had a couple friends of Nancy’s over that she has not seen in a long time. I managed to get up and put on a good act and helped with dinner and visited for a couple hours, I went to lay down I thought just for a few minutes and did not get up until my alarm went off this morning. I guess that is one of the good things about SUNCT over CH, I can sleep, it is like my body just shuts down when the pain gets bad and knocks me out to better cope with it. All that sleep and I still feel sleepy and would love to be back at home in bed instead of at work but have to work last thing I need is to put my job at risk and so far I have done a good job of not letting that happen. Hope everyone is having a PF day and thank you for the support I really appreciate all you guys do me and each other not sure what I would do without you guys.

Matt,

Haven't taken the time to read your post till now, but I've been praying for you since you posted and I saw your request.  Jackie is right.  A good hug goes a long long way!  Also, keeping your mind focused on the good time coming helps to keep your spirits up.  Set a goal and a reward for yourself for when it breaks.  You might have to wait a while, or it might be right away, one never knows, but have something planned for celebration when the time comes.  It gives you something to look forward to.
