Can someone explain what a "cycle" is?

I pretty much think I know the answer but I'd like someone to really tell me what a "cycle" entails.

A "cycle" is the amount of weeks/months/ you get clusters on a daily or every other day basis.   When you don't have clusters for weeks/months, you're in remission.  That's how I always thought of it.

Yep. I get well defined episodes where the headaches are linked to the calendar and clock, and outside of those episodes or cycles, I don't worry much. My cycles are usually preceded by sleep disturbances, manic energy, and a twitching eye on the affected side. I usually start out with one a day (around 5:30 am) and over time, they become more frequent and intense, then they back off and are gone.  Other people have different patterns, and some are chronic and have them every day. But a cycle is a defined episode or flock of the buggers.

Chad and Monty are 100% correct.  Cycles suck and remission periods are heavenly.

Yep. Cycles of headaches everyday, usually at the same time everyday, w/pain behind ONE eye or temple. Lasts for weeks.  Worst pain  ever felt. Then, no headache for months at a time or even a year, then BAM!!!  BACK IN CYCLE!.   If thats not what happens to you, Then you dont have cluster headaches. You got some other kind of problems.  Unless you cronic, where you get them at anytime through the year. Pain is still ALWAYS behind an EYE 90% time. Sometimes the temple.

THESE F*%KERS SUCK!!!!!   I*'m olmost out cycle people. I can feel it. Cool Wink Been pf  for 30 hrs now.  Got my fingers crossed.
