Just when I thought the coast was clear...
Jun 30th, 2010 at 9:17am

Got my oxygen a couple of weeks ago and it has helped some.  NO CHs the last two days and then last night, WHAM, three in a row and a very strong shadow this morning.  The O2 helped, and per all the instructions, I sucked on it until the CH was gone.  I'd go back to bed for an hour or so and then there it was again.  I feel like I've been beat up by a gang.   I'm staying home today and, fortunately, my SO is here to keep me plied with MONSTER drinks and oxygen.  I feel too nauseaus to eat.

I won't go into details on this because I'm not qualified. But our Oxygen Guru, Pete, (Batch) believes PH levels factor into how succeptible your body is to suffering CH attacks. About 6 weeks ago, during what was hopefully the peak of this seemingly never ending cycle,  Embarrassedoxygen stopped working, scared the crap outta me.

Pete suggested the following daily routine to change my arterial PH. Magnesium, Zinc, and Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D, washed down with lemonade, 3-4 times a day. 36 hours later the 02 was working again. You can PM Batch for the details, he goes as far as using strips to measure his daily PH to help keep CH in check.

By no means a cure all but brought mine back under control again.

Joe

Edited to add......with apologies to Batch I cut and pasted a portion of a previous post of his below:

I also take calcium citrate tablets with vitamin D, magnesium and zinc washed down with homemade lemonade as my preventative regimen when I go into a high cycle of 3 to 4 attacks a day.

The mineral supplements and lemonade elevate my arterial pH and this appear to be responsible for the reduction in the frequency and intensity of my CH.  It usually knocks me back into a low cycle in 24 to 48 hours.  I also cut back on red meat and eat more alkaline forming foods like salmon and lots of green veggies.  The following link lists the food types that work best to elevate arterial pH.

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.

Sorry you are in pain right now and the beast is camping out in your head.
Hope you get a break soon, positive vibes and prayers on the way.
