I would not be in disagreement here. I am one to realize life changes do not come without the severity of a crime placed forefront in order for lifestyle changes to be an overbeariing consideration. However, I can also imagine the storytelling reversed also. The perp had the gun and the attempted valiant defense colored of the accompanying fair damsel not as augmented, if the victim had the kinife straddled to his belt. I depart from imagining the possible consequences, which may have curtailed such a story being told. These are thoughts of risk management and may have reversed an imaginable intent of this story being expressed.
If I may, recently a home invasion lifted nothing of expensive value really, all my technology is old, only a sentimentally to lament, all the old coins saved since my days being a paperboy in the '60s, and all finds since, old stuff, many mercury-head dimes and surprising eurekas still circulating from the early 20th century. Probably its value capitalized or simply just spent on a celebrating Dairy Queen extragance.
Anyway, you know how you may keep that spare set of car keys in the back of a drawer, now realized thoughtless, they were found and my car stolen also. I recall Don mentioning not having a housekey on the same ring and heeded the idea a good thing. Being I just filled the tank that day and knowing the exhuberant freedom it may bring, I had a strong feeling this person would err.
Sure enough, within three days the car was totaled in an accident by this idiot who fleed the accident with a revoked, suspended, denied licence. I got a call from the police, he was in custody.
Subpoened, I signed-in as present in district court. The asst. prosecuting atty. informed me my testimony was not needed at the time, the case was taken up to county circuit court. I told her I understand and thanked her, saying it was also nice to meet you.
She added, Monday, July 12th is its date, although now shortly before, no subpoena has been received. Perhaps my victim statement may adequately suffice. Within, I mentioned this person always had the option and opportunity to touch upon remorse and abandon my car in front of my house, I wished to dispel any intention he had this was joyriding. All and every possession, which abundantly signified my position at work with many responsible operational supplies, perhaps quickly discarded for evidence purposes, reflected I certainly run a popular place of business and have high possibilities of employment capability. His possessions were astrewn in a lived in comfortability instead.
If returning the car, had this person then approached me saying he needed a job, I could talked first and considered arranging the matter, I'm one for realizing second chances can be needed as worthwhile. Instead he continued as if his own now and totaled the car with what looks like very harmful affects to another.
Again, I wish to be there, only because of the realization that it make the severity of a matter pressed that may change a lifestyle. Alternatively, being jailed may worsen, letting of lightly unimpressionable enough.
And so, I'm curious the turn this takes and so will call for an informational update today.

Yes, this is also my intension.

Sorry for the length, but I wish to express appreciation to the officers in the matter and the pursuit a due process.
Smilingly now though to think of, the very first questions asked of me from the police were: "What are you involved in now Mr. ....., then, "and so how much did you owe on the car?"
Not really so misunderstandably taken as an affront from an informed cop. I actually admired his homework being knowledgeable of so long ago.
