had an "interesting" neuro visit
Jul 6th, 2010 at 8:05am

I have two neuros now, one regular that I've had for 9 years, and one new, a pain clinic specialist in Boston. The first is compassionate and helpful, and what the second lacks in bedside manner he more than makes up for in experience and aggressive action.

When I told my first neuro I was in a kind of remission (no more than one low kip hit/day rather than 6 Kip8-10's/day) she actually looked disappointed. She remarked she guessed I didn't need to come back since I was doing so well. I disagreed, preferring to keep her with me since she is quite local.

The second neuro in Boston merely smiled and said, cool! But...where we would take an 80% reduction with migraines and say, game over! with ch's we're going to push even harder for a full remission!

I was nearly as perplexed by his remark (but I liked it) as I was by the first. It's the first time, however, I have ever heard a doctor say anything about being less than satisfied with a great reduction, and wanting the whole ball game. I do pray this can come about, for me and for all ya'll! Blessings! lance

That's so encouraging wimsey! Now I am so looking forward to seeing this guy as well. Let us know your progress and what his treatment  plan is to knock this thing out. I'm excited for you and for me too!

Wishing us all to end this madness soon!   Cheesy

I do like the second neuro's attitude a lot! Smiley Good luck with the full remission - I hope you'll find a way.

PF days,
Sanna

this sounds good but if i were you i would also be  cautious with what could be thrown to my side.
a few years ago a pain specialist told me that what the international headache organization thinks as success for ch is a 50% reduction to frequency and intensity and that by that standards we were doing therapies at the time.
i don't know if that was true or anything has changed for the better since then but anyway just be cautious.
hope you ll get something good from him Smiley
