Loss... and a request.
Jul 7th, 2010 at 9:38pm

In just over a month, I lost an Uncle to stomache cancer, and then had a longtime friend killed by a drunk driver while vacationing in Texas.

Last night, I found out my buddy Rodi passed away. I found out late, as he had posted on Facebook the 22nd that he was just 12 hours away from leaving for South Padre Island, TX for vacation. The next morning, his step-father found him on the floor in his room. He was already gone.
I hadn't checked his page for awhile, until a mutual friend posted, "R.I.P." to his page. I went and found out the news. He was only 32.   Cry

I've had many many friends die over the years, but Rodi's passing really broke my heart. He's struggled with Crohns disease ever since I've known him, and was just coming back from battling cancer. The last few weeks, he seemed to be doing really good.
They won't know for a couple more weeks the actual cause of death, but believe it may have been arrythmia, as he had been complaining earlier in the day that he was having 'mild palpitations.'

He made it to Texas though. His memorial was last Saturday, and since Texas was his fave place, his mom took his ashes to Texas to spread them out in South Padre.
The only comfort I find is that he is no longer suffering, while it tears me up that he died way too damn young. One of the nicest guys in the world is gone, while some of the meanest, most evil people live to be in their 70's. I'll never understand this unfair thing called life; I just know that, for all of us, one day it will end. Probably the saddest part of life.

I spent the night & part of today grieving the loss of someone special. I'm okay though, knowing he is at peace.

Not looking for comments on this post, just a request for those who pray. Please keep the Littleton family in your prayers, as this is a very difficult time for them, and his mother is not dealing with it well, understandably. I remember when my dad died my mom said several times, "Losing my husband was hard. However I don't think I could handle losing one of my children." I can only imagine what his mother is going through.

Peace,
Carl D

It's called dying out of order, I cannot imagine her sorrow either. You and her will both be in our prayers.

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.

You are not supposed to outlive your kids it is just wrong.  Embarrassed
Prayers on the way, this is very sad, he was far too young to die and far too young to have such a painful life.
My heart goes out to the family.

hey Carl. One of my great comforts was knowin' how many here cared enough to hear me...to write to me...to talk to me. And how many prayed. You probably know that being around so long and like you, I too have spent a lot of time grieving for too, too many. Thanks for sharing, man. God bless! lance
