DC storm on 7/25
Aug 3rd, 2010 at 12:13pm

Nancy and I flew out to DC from CA to surprise her best friend on her 50th birthday on the July 23rd the party was on Saturday and it was a blast and a great surprise. Nancy and I went to the National Air and Space museum on Sunday afternoon and it was a little overcast but not bad. We started seeing people coming in soaked to the bone and when we looked out a window it was coming down pretty good out. When we left the museum her friend called and asked if we were OK, we were like why what happened? Seems the 20 minute storm was packing 90 MPH winds and knocked out power for over 400K people and there was a lot of damage from it and we did see a lot of down power lines and trees on our way back. We did not get power back until Tuesday night and when we flew out on Thursday there was still people with no power it was a little crazy and very hot and humid to not have power or AC but we still had a good time and as bad as it was they said there was only two people that died and there could have been many more.
Link to a couple pics I took of the roads.

Glad to know you were OK.  Those high winds can be scary!
