When children don't get their way, they stomp around trying to get attention.

It's a waste of time Barb and this is a joke here anyway. If not, it's insane.

You're getting your way in spades, Charlie. Why so surly?

The only thing we have to fear is fear that they will stop being fearful of us.

There are some really brazen ones for whom this is already a reality.

Rod Blagojevich would be one that leaps to mind.

I'm sure some one in the lone hold out jurist family will be getting some pretty nice stuff... IL has suffered great with the last three Governors; Blag-a-b-tch put us in the poor house; the previous Gov. of Illinois took all convicts off Death Row.. and the present one who let hard core prisoners out on early release to free up prison space.DUH!!

And as for as the President; I don't really think Palin or Clinton would not have found anything foul.

Of course back then we didn't have 24 hour news coverage and blogs and e-mails and all that spewing hatred... we had to do it in the newspapers and word of mouth... But it was the same hate that's being spewed today...

And it's all ok as long as it's directed at the opposing side......

Quote:
McCarthy was wrong and ruined a lot of lives... what's going on today is as wrong as McCarthy was back in his day. We're supposed to be the UNITED States..

The why in God's name do the two major parties call the opposition brain dead idiots? Way to bring us together huh?

Like I said.....it's all ok as long as it's your side pumping the venom...turn the tables and everyone gets all offended and shit....

It's been said.....let the Democrats and the Republicans provide the floor show. Let the Libertarians run the show. I'm begining to lean that way....heavily.

Because I think it's sad that Republicans allow this to go on. It used to be that GOP prided itself on being the grownups and the party of restraint. What we are seeing now is the corrosive influence of Tea Party populism on the conservative mind. There's a plot behind every policy, doom over every horizon.

They have no alternatives so they have to settle on picking apart Obama.

You will notice that nobody in the Republican party who has any amount of influence has asked these questions publicly. They all have them, but even Democrats are starting to ask themselves the same questions. Look to see how many unhitch their carts from the horse in the next 75 days.

"Allow this to go on." Humbug. There is way too much we don't know about this guy, and shame on the sheeple for electing him.

We'll find out more as time goes on. Especially after November.

It's the Democrats fault for not kicking Obama around a bit. The effect is that they've allowed the far right inmates of the asylum to set the ajenda.

One can only hope that fewer Americans will choose to shoot themselves in the foot than has been projected.

Where does such passionate attachment to wild fantastic beliefs of say, birthers, come from? Must be what I call: Faith-Based Intelligence.

I'm assuming that's a rhetorical question. Grin

This guy's not even worth the time spent arguing.

Somewhere along way, Republicans turned toward evangelism. Conservatives were made into what they abhor: political activists. Fear rather than Republican theory is now central to the cause and the only way toward salvation. They have created a political culture in which compromise is impermissible. There is no room on the planet for other points of view. It would be blasphemy to suggest that the left, even on their side of the aisle, aren't agents of Satan.

The result is politics without humor.  We wind up with conservative puritans looking to force out anyone suggesting interpretation. These are not fun people to around. It's they who have made Congress into a place that Americans find as much fun as a root canal.

If anyone on the right veers a bit toward the center, he loses his license.

That is corrosive.

Charlie.
