BBC article on Cannabis for Chronic Pain

Regardless whether we feel it does or doesnt help for CH, it is interesting that more and more research is occurring in alternative treatments for pain that were previously laughed at or outlawed.

Might work on other pain, particularly ocular, but is contraindicative for Clusters. lance

Yet be reminded, where legal, state laws can vary and deviation in practice can bring the full brunt of established laws that may be surprisingly very reaching to some.

Here in California it's a raging controversy. Our medicinal marijuana law was poorly written, rushed through the approval process, and is in contradiciton to federal law. Because of the HUGE potential profits involved it's attracting quite the element to out medicinal DISPENSARIES!

Marijuana in my opinion is a lot like sinus buster pepper spray. The chemical compound itself has promise for a wide array of applications, but is still in it's infant stages as to HOW to effectively apply its benefits

My new neuro gave me an article yesterday from a French clinician who states that preliminary findings suggest that cannabis is not an effective treatment for clusters.  She did suggest that a controlled clinical trial might be in order, but it doesn't look promising.

There is no doubt cannabis does NOTHING for cluster headache, but what Neuropath is getting to is that there is promise that our gov't might legalize other substances like the whole Clusterbuster thing in the future.  I do believe cannabis can be used effectively in a medicinal way.  My buddy is currently using the oil extracted from the root to stop the growth of cancer cells in his prostate.  It gets way deeper than that, but that's what I gathered during our discussion.  He lives in Montana where medical cannabis is legal.

Anyway, I would love to see the day they legalize LSA, LSD or psilocybin for our Clusterbuster approach.
The Bromo-2 LSD would probably be the best candidate since is has no tripping affects.  That would be best for all of us who go this route.

It all comes down to how much the pharmaceuticals will lose in their end of the deal.  It's really sad that alternative medicine is blocked by money....

I think that we need to bear in mind that although our condition is extremely painful, it is not a chronic pain type malady.  I think for the most part being treated for chronic pain instead of treating the CH is a huge step backwards for us, collectively.  Just my opinion.

Triptans cause increased number of hits and increased intensity.  Learn it, believe it, live it.  I use triptans as the absolute LAST RESORT when treating my CH.&&
