Back on the cycle again
Sep 6th, 2010 at 3:48am

3 Years pain free, now I'm back on the cycle, about 4weeks in. I'm now getting 6 or more bad hits a day or night as the case may be. I just sucked down a K-tank of O2 2 days. Lithium  is not working and imitrex gives me rebound headaches as almost bad as clusters. With my wife's help and a understanding employer I'm just gutting them out when I don't have O2. Should be gone in another week or 2.
Reading all the post from other sufferers is the most helpful thing out there
Thank-you everyone for your post and helpful ideas

Wow. And I thought the previous poster had it rough after an 18 month hiatus. Yup, these things do come and morph and take us by surprise. You obviously have a handle on some of the abortives and preventatives, but keep every iron in the fire...even what didn't work in the past...cuz it might work this time. I'm thinking of stuff you didn't mention, like melatonin, energy drinks, kudzu, pred tapers, verapamil, and if it doesn't fade, check out the clusterbusters. And I agree, fellow poster-sufferers are the best, and this site is the best of the best! Good luck, and God bless! lance

My last cycle followed a 2 year remission.....ouch...just when you think you're safe. Undecided

You may want to try the "chronic cocktail" next go round. When either lithium or verapamil has begun failing, many have found the combo of the 2 began working as an effective prevent again.

Also, I found sucking down an energy drink, while aborting with oxygen, seemed to speed the abort time, and prevented a lot of the come backers. I use Red Bull but any containing caffeine and taurine will work.Hoping you're right and the end is near this go round.

Are you saying you are out of O2 now?  If so, why?

Is O2 effective for you?  If not, what flow rate are you using/mask type/...?

I hope they leave you alone again quickly.

Where there is life, there is hope.
Where there is Oxygen, you must use proper caution.
So be safe, don't smoke while using O2. Kill the pain and not yourself.

Sorry they are back Sad I have learned a lot in the past 4 years that I have been here, and now I have a 25 LPM regulator, an o2ptimask and the right amount of Verapamil daily, 480mg has helped my last cycle like none other, just hope I have the same success with this new cycle that is starting... Undecided
