Tragedy strikes home....
Sep 20th, 2010 at 6:01am

Ya'll know about my German son. Well my assistant had a "daughter" from Brazil at the same time, Ana Paula, a beautiful girl and a good friend of my Ben. She and her boyfriend and Ben were inseperable for the year that they were here in East Texas and were either at Pete's (my assistant) or at my house most of the time.

We got word that Ana was killed by a drunk driver in Brazil Saturday night. Needless to say we're all in shock and I don't think I've quit crying since I heard the news. Seems she, her mother and another friend were walking into a concert when this drunk ran them down. They all later died in the hospital. Of course the drunk is just fine and "sorry".

Right now I'm so mad at the guy who did it, I could (without a qualm) kill him, but it wouldn't bring our Ana back. I hope they hang him, but they'll probably just slap his wrist.

Anyhow, this is a tragedy in our part of the world as well as Germany (Ben is really in shock - he an Ana were very close and have stayed that way). You just don't expect this to happen to your kids...

Anyone got any spare prayers... Pete needs them right now. She's not doing well ...

Prayers and more on the way, a parent should not outlive their child it is just not right and a tragedy like this should never happen. My bet is this person will probably turn out to have several prior DUI’s. This is just so sad and senseless, if you are going to drink stay your ass at home like a responsible person.
So sorry for your loss.

Horrible news to hear.

And the world over, people that do this get a slap on the wrist and they go out and do it again. Each time there are lives destroyed.
