Increase in normal headaches as cycle subsides?
Sep 20th, 2010 at 10:47pm

In my last cycle, my doctor sort of hinted that I might be getting an increased amount of non-CH headaches as the cycle started to end....and in my current cycle my CH have diminished and I am getting lots more tension, etc headaches.

Does this resonate with anyone? Coincidence?

I doubt it's a coincidence. Any nrelieved stressor can kick off a CH or a migraine or a tension headache. It sounds to me as if you would profit from examining the various stress points in your life and reevaluate how you deal with them. Just my thoughts. Blessings. lance

I have to wonder if maybe the " regular" headaches are rebounds or side effects from the CH meds................

I've been experiencing the same thing.  On the downhill side of a cycle right now and I'm getting lots of non-CH headaches which is odd for me since when I'm not in cycle, I rarely have headaches.

I chalked it up to all the additional stress that the beast causes, but sounds like there might be a connection...

What about taking a supplement like Feverfew? From what I've read it doesn't interfere with any meds and it's supposed to be good for multiple kinds of headaches. Hubby is on it now, not long enough to report and definite results from it though. Might head some of the other types of headaches off at the pass. Just an idea...

I was just diagnosed with CH and for the entire month before, thought I was having non-stop migraines that would just peak in brutal intensity.  Neurologist helped me distinguish between the Cluster Headaches, and the rest of the time, during the cycle, I had tension headaches.  I believe as a result of the stress and pain of dealing with CH everyday.  I think my cycle ended, and about 5 days after the last CH, my tension headaches finally subsided as well...
I really wouldn't be surprised if you had TH as a result of the anxiety and stress surrounding the non-stop cluster headaches.
