Okies, so y'all know I am a musician. I play mostly hard stuff. I also do alot of very different stuff, including one soundtrack for an independent movie (which I am very proud of), and some remixes for Nine Inch Nails.
Those of you who know me know, I am a NIN freak!!! Trent Reznor is pretty much my idol musically, as he can record an album by himself, throw together a band and tour his brains out, all the while recording on his tour bus. The man is relentless.

He was approached to do the soundtrack for "The Social Network" and when he found out it was about Facebook, he got nauseaus. Then he found out David Fincher was doing the film, read the script, and dropped everything he was working on (including the new NIN album, dammit), and he and Atticus Ross recorded the soundtrack for the film.

Now here's where it gets interesting: They started a remix contest on Friday, which the deadline for submissions is Tuesday morning. This is a serious contest! Grand prize is a trip for two to LA for the premeire of the film, hotel included, and the winner also gets to meet TRENT & ATTICUS!
I would say that would be a dream come true, but the truth is, it would be a wet dream come true - and quite possibly change my musical destiny.

Also, for the runners up, they will be putting together a 20 track CD of the best remixes. So, if you would, please listen to my remix of one of the tracks from the film and even if you HATE IT, still rate it 100, please? Mind you, this is not 'heavy metal' - this is movie soundtrack music for a very dark film. Right now I need luck, votes & sleeeeeeeep. Gonna nap for an hour or two and then get up, start working on 2 more planned remixes. I hope I can get them done & up in time. Got the radio show tomorrow and my good friend Amanda and her Fiancee Joal just came back from Iraq and are joining us in the studio for the show - which will be a blast. That leaves Monday as my last work day for this thing, and will work 24 hours on it if my body allows.

I've had a few complaints about registering. It sucks they make you register to vote, but I think they do that to keep artists from voting for themselves (which, you can't do.)

So far rating is 53 - average. My other remix, which was on the old profile that got wiped, "1'000'000 (UNcontrolled Remix)" never made it past 40 something before. I put it up on the new profile the 23rd, and checked yesterday and it was ranked 88. Today, it was 92!!! I am freaking on that, as it was the first remix I had done, and sounds kinda shallow.

Back to remixing tomorrow. Preparing for my guests to arrive for tonights show, which will be a blast. It is so good to have these two home from Iraq - for good.

Thanks Dennis. Apparently, I'm not doing too hot right now - but that's due to A) not getting enough ratings and B) alot of remixers are CHEATING!!!!!! It's really quite frustrating, as I spent all damn day working my ass off on this new mix and got one rating - a 1! To make matters worse, I am trying to rate a few remixes I think are worthy, but when I try to move the meter, the box vanishes. 

The new remix "On We March... Silently (DeMixed)" is now up for streaming & rating. PLEASE give it a listen and rate it 100. Worked on this one all day. Some remixers are cheating and going to everyone else's remixes and rating them 0, so they can try to beat everyone else. I hope Trent Pisses on them!!! Here's the link:

Right now I am frustrated enough that, to beat the deadline I have to stay up ALL NIGHT to finish the 3rd & final remix. I have a feeling this one is gonna get really agressive since right now I feel like ripping shit apart!

This is the 3rd and final remix. I am WIPED OUT! Been up all night, just got the remix uploaded in time for some in the remix community to rank it low.
I still hope that the mods on the site will keep track of the idiots who are downrating everyone to try and get to the top. LUCKILY, Trent & Atticus put it in the fine print that, "They reserve the right to choose a remix with a low rating if they like it enough."

Alotta rage went into this one. For soundtrack music, this would be a chase scene. Redid the drums, REAL bass (no synth), guitars, and added elements of the original, defaced some, glistened the pianos... I was inspired so I called this one...

Very tired, but can't go to bed until I go see the doc in 2 hours for more needles in my spine and right now - that sounds good to me (well, AFTER the shots kick in that is.)

Not expecting to win the contest, but hey, at least I got some musicwork done. Bright side to everything I guess. Not to mention, I'm pretty proud of the balls on this remix.
