Advice to newcomers
Oct 19th, 2010 at 5:52pm

Welcome.  Glad you found us, and hope we can help.  That is our purpose.

With that being said, let me please give just a small warning.  At the top and bottom of each page you will find advertisements, some of which advertise CH treatments, etc.  Understand that they are just that, advertisements, and are not necessarily endorsed by CH.com or by Darren Johnson, who provides this site.  I'm not suggesting they are all snake oil sales, but often they are.  They prey on the newbies who haven't yet learned how to deal with CH and are desperate for help.  Please let me suggest that you ask for input before trying anything you find in one of the ads.  You can be sure there will be someone on the board who has tried (and usually unsuccessfully) the products advertised.

The ads are purchased from Google and are put on the page without DJ's direct knowledge or approval.  I mention this because in a couple of cases new clusterheads have purchased products that proved to be less than satisfactory and felt DJ had a part in ripping them off.  He is an honorable man, and he did not.

The same advice would apply to posts in the site as well.  By and large, if something is mentioned in the site that you have to send someone money for it will not be legit.  Yes, we talk about different things that work for us and may tell you where you can access them, but they will not be from one of us.  The only exception to that would be the CH.com store or the OUCH store (when we get it back up and running.)

Just my $.02.  I hate seeing newbies get ripped off when they are desperate, and I hate the bottom feeding scum that do it.

Jerry

BTW, if you want to click on some of the ads occasionally DJ does get a little income from Google.  Wink

CH.com store is one of the yellow buttons on the left of your screen.  It was put there by DJ. and is part of what supports this site, other than DJ's checkbook.

The MoyaMoya site is another site created and operated by DJ for another rare disease he suffered with.  Neither store is making him rich, but helps a little to defray the costs of him operating this site.  Any help you give would be appreciated.

Thank you Jerry for clearing that up.  Yes Black, the phone number you put in was probably DJ's cell phone number.  We operate ch.com and moyamoya.com out of our home.  The ch.com store provides merchandise to those that want to flaunt their stuff in support of ch.com and it's a wonderful way to get the disease a little awareness.  I was at Applebee's last month and a lady literally ran me down in the parking lot because she noticed my shirt, she said she had been diagnosed a week earlier.

Jerry's right, we aren't getting rich on this stuff, quite frankly, we just want to spread the word (and provide some pretty cool gear).  The monies from the sales of merchandise go right back into the store to replenish stock when needed.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me!  Smiley
