Melatonin! Lots of good info on the site on Melatonin. If I could pick where my 401K invested it'd all be in Melatonin and Welding O2.

Hang in there and keep fighting the good fight!

And send us your woman! The supporters here rock (umm, I know 'cause I'm one of them!) Help us help her help you! Something like that...

Another Aucklander - so I'm not the only one here in Auckland!

Bluenz now has the details of a neuro who is well worth seeing here in Auckland.

And it is possible to get oxygen here too - Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

hi guys      thanks so much for everything
.    Mike thank you so much    youve given me some more amo thanks so much. ill get back to you in a couple of days  ill work threw it as my ice pick allows  .

they wont give me o2     although one tank  would fit well up the jacksie of my neuro        groan.    but the local hospital is onside.  abet its usually to late by the time i drag myself there..  but i can usually catch a rebound there..

so i think  im gonna  have to go the welders tank route.

aucklands leading neuro at ak hospital  blew me off after locking me in an observation room for two hours with some half brained registrar who was more of an airhead than i am   never even asked Ch related questions  or give me a chance to put forth my story....then after a ten minute consult with neuro told me i had migraines that he had never even seen a CH patient   he wouldn't prescribe anything other than a anti physiologic i diddnt even want to take. he said it works for CH.    wouldnt give me a pen or 02  he sux     wassent interested in my printed info...

crazy stuff but all to common...

.but yer... kinda despondent with them all now..

matters not tho i have you lot who understand the true manner of things on side and thats just so much more help than i can express....

im gonna have to give my gp my printed info again   and ask him again to read threw it... again.  maybe batt my big ol eyelashes   again and beg for mercy

normally i use ice, mouth and neck lots of very cold water and a trex pills.  and then hospital for 02 if its not to late.  or  just breathing  deeply almost hyperventilating in a way  overbreathing?
but i have to make the effort a real effort in sleeping patterns  my body clock is so twitchy.  i have to hypnotize myself to sleep so i can sleep but that does not always work.   i slept 4 hours averate for the first 40 years of my life so its hard to change. hard to sleep normally.  but it helps. hell id fry eggs on my forehead if it helped  ; )        but even sleeping in late in the morning will trigger for me.
my chronic cycles lasted 3 years....    so far    BUT      i have hope to better management of myself.

and Lauren17     i am Fem          ; )
a pleasure to meet you.

sorry for the rant....   but thank you for always understanding.  just a bit muddled today.

p.s   does anyone still use the chat module here?

thanks again for everything, for just being here, for just knowing what it is.. all of it    thank you
over and out

Yes, you can get oxygen, just not the home oxygen service.

Just ask your GP for a letter that states:
Quote:
Home oxygen required for the treatment of Cluster Headaches at a high flow rate using a non-rebreather marks.

Then take it to BOC. They are outlets around Auckland. To find your nearest look on their web site and use the link at the bottom right:

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

You'll need to apply for an account which they say takes 24 hours but just say that it's urgent for medical reasons and it can be done in half an hour.

They have regulators that go to 25lpm.

Check to see if they have non-rebreather masks in stock. I had to pick one up from their depot (near Green Lane).

I got a couple of larger tanks for at home and a smaller one that I take to work, etc in a small rucksack.

Then read up the instructions on the left.

If you're like me, the first time you use it you'll be in tears as you realise how wonderful it works and what pain you're no longer getting. Then the next few times you'll have a huge smile on your face as the CH vanishes in minutes.

So get it sorted out!
