I've always slowly built up, easy attacks KIP 2-3....then over a period of several weeks hitting the nasty attacks, after 2-3 months they fade out the same way. Others have a God-Awful, butt kicking attack, and that tells them the cycle is over. No real hard and fast rule, experience helps a little but past performance is no guarantee of future returns! I usually build up rapidly, am at peak intensity for two or three weeks, then they gradually fade away.  Cycles are almost always six weeks.

But that's just me.  The thing seems to be just as eccentric and idiosyncratic as we are.

Best,

George

Hey Adam,

I do hope your cycle is coming to an end!!!

I use to know mine was ending because I'd get one on the other side.... and that happened about a week ago infact I got one on both sides (that is truly hell - I've had it before once and I didn't think I'd ever have the pleasure  Shocked again but there you go).  So I thought my cycle had ended but sadly no... still getting the occassional shadow and hit to go with it  Undecided

Its crazy you know, you think you've got it sussed, you know how your cycles have started, ended etc in the past and then bam it all changes....

Sorry about the whine  Cool but gees it always feels better to let it out  Smiley

Looking forward to your post telling us your head is well and truly behaving itself!!

Wishin you all the best,

Kate

I hope yours is indeed on the way to a 700 year absence.

My cycles would come on quickly and last a bit more than a month. When they were on the way out, I'd be shaving or eating in the morning and realize that I had one less hit or so. The next day would be even fewer and I was sure that perhaps the next day, they would be gone. They almost always were.

First off you need to breathe my brother.

I went 10 yrs without a proper diagnosis.
My cycles were 2x per yr like clockwork and lasted about a month.

Since 2004 I've been going straight. I get a little respite hear and there but for most part have remained in "cycle"

My point is that We nor the researchers know why things change or how long things will in fact maintain or when they will go poof and never comeback.
There are some who go yrs without and then all of a sudden they reappear.

Don't sweat that stuff.
Have your plan and breathe!!!!

Peace

Look into the 02 so you dont have to Trex at ever shadow. Try an energy drink to get rid of the shadows. My cycle will hit soft for two weeks than hard for two weeks and soft for 2 weeks. And when I can enjoy a cold one with the boys I know it's done.

I was going to say something stupid like "when it hurts no more your out of cycle"  Smiley But I wont go there.

Good Luck,wishing you PF days..

Eric (E-Double) gave you some excellent advice.  I know it is hard to relax and go with the flow of things at this point in your life.  YOu are just now trying to establish what is going on and how to deal with it, BUT, you WILL get a handle on it.  We are here to help you, and as you learn you will do the same for the next poor soul that comes along with a new diagnosis and fear that he will not be able to handle it.  With knowledge comes freedom.  Read as much as you can here.  Continue to ask questions as you are learning things and don't understand what we are telling you.  In the meantime, breathe, breathe out, repeat....

The only constancy with CH is its inconsistency.  Just when you think you have it all down it changes.  You have to be prepared for that.  No, you don't have a plan yet.  A plan takes a while to develop, and must be flexible.  Your next assignment is to meet with your Neuro and not leave the office without a script for at least 15 lpm, preferably 25 or higher.  The second part of that assignment actually comes first.  You are to read and print out whatever you think you need to take with you from the "oxygen info" button on the left.  You also need to have in mind specific treatment options you want to try as far as preventatives.  You need to know what to ask for because if you wait for him to make you well you are in for a world of hurt!  Unless you get one of a handful of specialists you will probably have read as much or more about CH than he has, so you need to be prepared to work WITH your Dr to develop your treatment plan.

You may actually go through a couple of cycles before you get a regimen down that works for you.  That is one reason we encourage newbies to stick around and participate during their off cycle time.  As new things come around it is better to know about it beforehand than to come here in a panic after your next cycle starts looking for answers and not able to see a doc for a couple of months.  Be a scout!  Be prepared!

In the mean time relax.  It WILL end.  Live between the hits, and don't let the beast win.

Jerry
