A request for a young girl
Nov 19th, 2010 at 5:47pm

I ran into one of my department managers today and asked about her daughter.  At this point, the prognosis does not look good.  She has a very rare neurological disorder called Parry Romberg Syndrome.  This young lady has one of the severest forms of this Symdrome.  She has had several surgeries already and faces more.  None of the treatments have stopped the progression of the disease and now the doctors are waiting on insurance approval for her to see a specialist in NYC.

Her name is Morgan King and she is a 17 year old honor student.  Prayers, thoughts, anything for her and her family.

Yet another rare condition which I hope she will be treated with compassion as well as knowledge.

At 17, she is probably at the wrost time in her life for this to be happening.   I'm lighting my praying candles for her tonight and praying really really hard for her.

Carolyn...this family has always "shown up" for these kinds of things.   Can we send cards?  At her age I think it might make her feel very loved to have a whole boatload of cards from perfect strangers who know what it means to have a debilitating and rare illness.  if so, let us know an address to send them to, o.k.?

Great idea Linda!

Carolyn, please let them know I'll be praying for them.

Linda,
I won't see her mom again before the beginning of December (that's when I'm scheduled to be back up there).  I will find out though (or if I can remember it, I will call her mom).

Morgan is having a tough time of it.  She just got her permit to drive and then she began to have seizures, so that was taken away from her.  She's also a senior in high school and an honors student.
