Joyful Therapy
Dec 3rd, 2010 at 9:18am

Sweet joy yesterday.  The sky was blue, the sun was shining and it was warm enough to ride my bicycle.  With the cold weather we have been having since before Thanksgiving and these freaking headaches it had been more than 10 days since I have been able to ride.

Since I began taking the Verapamil 17 days ago I was curious to see if I would have the energy to ride my bike again.  My doctor had mentioned that the Verapamil would cause my heart rate to slow as we began to increase the dosage so my biggest fear was how this might effect my stamina.  Since beginning the Verapamil my resting heart rate has increased instead of slowed and my blood pressure has risen?

I wore my heart rate monitor while riding so that I could see exactly what was happening.  It was a little bit higher than usual but nothing out of the ordinary.  I so enjoyed being out on my bicycle and even did some intervals.  My stamina seemed to be just fine.  I did not want to venture to far from my house since I was alone but I did ride 10 miles with no problems at all.  No heart real heart rate issues and no headache!  Sweet joy!

Later this morning is my appointment with the new neurologist I hope he can bring me as much joy as the bike ride did today.

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.
