Off Cycle Spikes?
Dec 8th, 2010 at 9:15am

This is new for my husband, but he mentioned that not 2 days will go by without getting a spike of clusterlike pain. Just a quick Bzzzzttt! of pain. He has been off cycle for over a month's time and this has not happened before. Previously once they were gone they stayed gone. He'll also get the same twinge feeling if he thinks or talks about clusters for to long, like the beast recognizes it's being thought of, which I find so very odd. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

YES,YES and YES.....  I look at it this way,the beast wants to come around, but knows that if he screws with me, I'll blast him with Trex and kick his A$$ with an energy drink.

I'll get those every once in a while but they never turn into anything.

I told him it was because the beast knows I'm after it! I'd be nervous too if I were it! bwahaha.

It is interesting to me, as well as being one of the main reasons I'm here more than he is, that just thinking about it can give him a twinge. I'd rather spare him that if I can, I figure he's had MORE than a lifetime's worth of this, as have you all, and if I can spare him even a second of it I will. That is my resolve now- I'm working on preventing them forever and it is my goal even if I can never quite get him there. Not saying I can't do it, even as unrealistic of a goal as it is, but I will never, never, never give up trying for it. We all need to shoot for something after all!

It could be CPH or something similar.

Triptans cause increased number of hits and increased intensity.  Learn it, believe it, live it.  I use triptans as the absolute LAST RESORT when treating my CH.&&

I get those spikes. It's kinda like a hit and run from the beast; you know, like when you're little brother or sister pokes you and says, "I'm not touching you." Mom, she's touching me...like that. But much more painful and annoying. Still, I'll take it over a full and for real hit. Blessings. lance

I've had them as well. I was getting them for about two weeks, just every now and then, before the actual cycle started and I've been getting them this week, when I haven't had a ch for 7 days (fingers still crossed). I'm hoping it's a sign the cycle is coming to an end, rather than the beast just toying with me Smiley

yup get those a lot. I call them WTF headaches because they last just long enough for me to say what the f**k. i compare them to some one putting an electro schocker on the side of my head and zapping me for a couple of seconds. For me its allso a warning that sharon (the Beast) might be on her way
