You need to or for $58. An additional plus is that it has a DISS fitting if you ever want to upgrade to a demand valve (which I definitely recommend). Very light, much nicer than my old LSP regulators.

thanks guys,,yeah the e-tank ones seem pretty cheap but i need one for my m-tank and they are pretty expensive on ebay,,but if im understanding you guys right i can use one of the welding regulators i came across,is that right? if so is there any other adapting to make it work? im a plumber by trade so its not a problem to make it work just wasnt sure it was possible,,thanks again for the responses,,got my email today my optimask is on its way,thanks mr and mrs deej

Oh, sorry, I haven't noticed the 540 requirement. Still, these guys have a CGA540 0-25LPM regulator as well, for $59:

If you want to use your non-rebreather mask with it, you can just put a barbed adapter on the DISS.

From what I understand the welding regulators should be fine as well.

We did need to get the adaptor for Lucas's regulator for the connection the mask went on. The adaptor was for the hose to the mask- nothing to do with the tank- but the regulator I bought had an outflow connection that was a screw on type and our mask has the push on, smaller tubing. Same store, same rack they had the adaptors for that. As I recall it was about $4 an was just an inch and a half barbed brass fitting. Easy Peezy

Anyone know where you can buy these adapters online for less than $60-$70? It would seem they should be cheap, but I couldn't find anything. For this much you can just buy another regulator.

update:: picked up a sweet welding o2 regulator today,,even came with the barbed fitting to slide the hose on,,brand new for 34.95,,if you have a harbor freight tool store in your area check them out,,they ship online to

thats what im gonna try marc i just hope i qualify,,she said on the phone there is a application to fill out or something,,my credit is in the toilet so ill just have to keep my fingers crossed,,
found some tanks on craigslist for 75 each but i think there is an inspection process before they will just fill any tank so that may be risky if the tank doesnt pass,,
gonna try tomorrow if they are open if not monday,,still got my almost full m-tank so im stoked to be finally geared up,, so to speak

Stopped in my local Habor Freight store and stumbled into a deal on these regs. They had 3 in stock.....one had been opened and the barb fitting was missing. I wanted to buy all three.....the head cashier found the proper fitting and cut the price of that reg to 25 bucks....or so I thought. Intentionally or not the end result was all 3 for 75 bucks plus tax. I gladly thanked her, paid and walked out. Every once in a while you knock a home run when you least expect it. Cool
