Perfect timing
Jan 12th, 2011 at 8:34am

We were out in Perth dining out when we noticed an ambulance pull up just a couple of metres away from us, with the ambulance staff treating someone for something fairly minor.

The meal itself was eventful, with a huge cockroach flying to the table and helping itself to my partner's steak (it was more impressed with it than she was).

With perfect timing I got a CH (first in 9 days, my longest ever gap). My partner got the paramedic's attention, explained I needed high flow oxygen and I was pain free in about 4 minutes. That's incredible luck to be in the right time and place.

The paramedic was incredibly interested to hear all about cluster headaches, their accute treatment and he asked for where to look CHs up online, so I directed him to both Wikipedia and here.

So in the future if he comes accross someone with a CH he'll be up to speed with effective treatment.

Maybe I should by a lottery ticket later?

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.
