Thank You For Your Kindness
Jan 23rd, 2011 at 10:45pm

I'm so glad that I found this site.  After my post from the other night, you guys have all been so helpful and caring.  And what's more important, you believed me!  Try telling someone that you have headaches that are more painful than anything you've ever been through and see if they'll believe you!  I guess you probably already have.

Last night I went to hell twice.  I usually make it to the living room to cope with the pain, but this time I didn't even make it downstairs.  I got as far as my snake room.  See, I have over 30 reptiles in my house, 24 of them snakes.  Most of the snakes are nocturnal.  As I rolled and rocked around, I stared at the snakes moving about in their enclosures.  They're so beautiful.  I tried to focus on something besides the pain.  I just couldn't.  Those snakes are my world.  If someone were to hand me one and tell me that if I killed it the pain would stop, I'd rip it to shreds with my bare hands.  That scares me.

My insurance is not active until Feb. 2.  Then I can get help.  I hate waiting.  I'm the most impatient person I know.

So now it's night.  I'm scared to sleep.  I read all of my friends' statuses on Facebook and see how thrilled they are that the Steelers just won (I'm from the Pgh. area) and I wish I could be that happy too.  In the summer time, I LOVE the night.  I miss loving the night and the darkness.  My life feels so different after reading about CH's.  It's like everything has changed.  But I will survive.  It's what I do.

Thank you so much for being here!

~Becky

Thanks, Joe. Smiley  I'm reading the treatment part of the forum now.  I'm definitely confused on the clusterbuster site though.  I'm not sure what they're offering as treatment.  It just seems to be another forum to me.  It's so funny -  I've never had an energy drink in my life and think they're incredibly bad for you.  But now I have a can of Red Bull in my fridge.  My friends would harrass me to death if they saw that!  Ha ha.

Clusterbusters is about using illegal hallucinogenic drugs to eliminate the pain. It works for 75-80% of the people who follow the regimen.

Yeah, that's what I was gathering from the treatment forum on this site.  If it works, I think I'd try just about anything.  But I'm not sure how you go about getting this kind of treatment.  Probably shouldn't as my doctor!  Ha ha.

You'd be surprised, Becky.  My Dr. brought it up to me.... I too was worried to mention it.  I do have a VERY knowledgeable Dr. though.

Good idea about trying to focus on something else besides the pain.

I think many of us know how challenging that can be at certain CH intensities.  Shocked

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Jeannie:  I'm a little worried that my doctor won't know a thing about my headaches and that I'll lose more time getting help while making an appt. with a specialist.  We shall see.

bejeeber:  I've always been a little wary of taking any drug (even over the counter) when I don't know much about it.  I am JUST learning about all of this.  I know when I'm experiencing a CH, I'd do anything or take anything to get rid of it though.  I definitely want oxygen!!  If my doctor doesn't give it to me, I'll find a way to get it myself for sure.  That seems to work for so many of you.  I think I read on Wikipedia that focusing on something else would help.  I think it might have in the beginning but then I lost the focus.  My snakes must think I'm crazy. Wink
