I killed a headache yesterday with O2..... it completely went after 20 minutes on O2, I switched between 12L and 15L cos I couldn't keep up with 15L the whole time. The headache was gone for over 45 minutes. After that, it was a little niggly - probably a 2/3K - but not enough to worry about taking anything.

So, based on that, my GP - who is the one doc I DON'T hate, especially now - gave me THE letter for the gas company, and I'm in the process of setting up an account with them..... YAAAAAY!!!!!!!!

And the referral has gone off to the headache specialist....

I already feel like a new person.

I just hope it keeps working, that it's not just a placebo thingy.

There's no such thing as a placebo that will work as a CH abortive. IMO.

Yay, you're killin' the hits now!

I bet you might be able to improve on that 20 min. abort time too. Hyperventilating with deep and rapid huff huff huffing is a routine practice amongst the power users (and of course that's where the higher liter flows come into play).

And sorry if this has been covered over and over already, but an energy drink at onset is known to help the O2 do it's thing, including keeping the re-attacks away longer.

Reply #6 - Feb 8^th, 2011 at 1:21am BB, I do have a bubbler (that's the humidifier, right?) but I think someone on here said not to use it, and my GP also said it might be too difficult with such a high flow rate? I guess it's worth a shot, though, since I have it anyway - the dry throat is the hardest thing to deal with.

I stuffed the overflow with a toothpick an 8psi bubbler, OK so I've overridden a safety device. I still get 25 lpm through it moist and bubbly. Just dont stand with your face in the bubbler. High flow bubblers go 12 to 14 psi and can handle 25lpm this would be the better way.
