Sounds like she set up her own "Meals on Wheels!".  After my Gramma had broken her hip, gone through rehab and finally was able to go back to her own home, we set up a daily delivery (M-F) by the local Salvation Army lunch program for seniors. It was wonderul. For $2.20 per day she got a balanced hot meal and milk. It was too much food for her to eat so the left overs, combined with a salad or maybe a potato was enough for supper too.

The best of it though, was she had a daily visit from someone who would bring her meal into her home and put it on the table for her, and visit for a few minutes. For someone homebound, that is just wonderful. And then if she didn't answer the door, they would call me or my Aunt to tell us and confirm that she just hadn't forgotten to cancel her delivery due to a doctor's appt or something.

Highly recommend a service of this nature!

Pizza is good too.  Cheesy

We have several "meals on wheels" things in my area. It's a good thing and there are a lot of older lonely people for which this is a godsend.

Oh......Pitsa are good!
