Serotonin Storm?
Mar 2nd, 2011 at 11:36am

I was wondering if anyone knows of a link/paper supporting a "serotonin storm" happening in the brain just prior to a CH. I have seen it aluded to in 2 different posts, but have not been able to track down any medical papers on it.  Undecided

Thanks,
DG

Well, I have never heard of a "Serotonin Storm", but I will say that during a 4 year chronic period we threw everything at it to break the cycle and nothing worked. My Doc, who is a general practitioner was also helping and together decided to try Cymbalta which is a serotonin building drug. It broke the cycle. Now I am episodic.

I didn't respond previously because you asked for medical journal type evidence. I couldn't find any but that doesn't mean none exist. Try pm'ing Bob Johnson and ask him. There are plenty of internet postings on the topic so it does seem to be well known. Let us know what you find out. Blessings. lance
