I, too, am sorry. I know when I get a couple of days relief, it feels like a vacation. But when they come back, and they do, it's a total surprise as to how much it really hurts. Get back into battle mode and fight. Blessings. lance

Yep, typical I'm afraid. Just when you think you have the beast's timing figured out, WHAMMO!

Sorry to hear about your unexpected and most unwelcome guest.  Sad

Give him a sucker punch followed by a swift uppercut to the jaw and teach him some manners for us, will ya?  Cool

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Yes, I have had some rather long breaks of 2-3 years.  I thought that I was cured.  Them wham!  Keep a log - the notes will help you remember what worked if this comes again in a couple years.  I hope your cycle is brief.  Take advantage of the good times.

Agree with BJ, Either I am lazy but, I have never bothered to do a 'timetable' of his visits...
I think its bad enough when its here, than to look at your calender and think 'the next trains due now', and then worry about hearing the whistle!

As Joe said, unpredictability..Why then try and anticipate?

You/we all have much better things to do!

Respect

Clusterica,
I wish you a speedy return to pain free.  It does change, I'm noticing some weird and subtle  things this cycle that I'm not used to from past ones. Hang in there and give it a good ars kicking!
You've got a group hug from all of us!

With me I never know when it will arrive.  What I can tell you it always seems to pick the worse time to do so.  No time is good but the beast has no mercy.  I can go 4 yrs or 5 or 2 there is no reason and no warning.

"UNPREDICTABLE"

I note this word being used in the responses thus far. Sadly I would have to say that's a total understatement!!

I'm really sorry to hear its back for you and hope its a short episode followed by another long break. But I gotta say, I wouldn't bank on it. Throughout my CH career, every time I've thought I was in a pattern, it's changed. At the moment I've sort of got used to a six monthly cycle, so it's probably about to change!
I have had up to a one year break and I get just how devastating it is when it returns. I think the best you can do is enjoy life when it ain't there and struggle through when it is, no matter how often the SOB turns up.
All the very best
Andrew
