I have Multiple Sclerosis

My Maybe-MS status is no more. I got the results of my spinal tap yesterday, and the neuro diagnosed MS.

So now I have another completely unpredictable neurological rollercoaster to be on board! Fun fun Cheesy

I was a little stunned at first, I really didn't expect him to be so positive in his diagnosis even if the spinal tap was positive (MS is an elusive disease) but really, I expect that a lot of the people that I am close to, to take this harder than I have. 9 months ago I found out that this was a possibility, and I did all my "Shock Horror" "Gasp" "Oh No" "Wo Is Me" crap back then.

In some ways it's like CH - there's just really not much to do, till the next "THING" comes along to make life difficult. THe main difference is, I don't know what the next "THING" will be, or whether it will completely go away.

So off I go to get ready for another day (it's 6am), now finally knowing that I have a neurological trifecta - Epilepsy, CH and MS.

Picture that for a minute - really picture it. Neurons firing electrical impulses like a wire short-circuiting (epilepsy). The insulation around my nerves melting and not letting the signals through (MS). And the blood vessels around my brain expanding and contracting at will.

NOW somebody tell me my brain is not from the reject bin Cheesy

It sounds not fun and as Jimi says: Come here and rant away! I'm two thirds of the way in: Epilepsy and CH. The latter hasn't been a serious problem for me since 1991 however. That's enough for me. But at least with the diagnosis you can start to work with your doctors to sort out the best treatment you can get for it. You've done it once with getting your CH under control so you know how to go about this. Hopefully there is an MS forum that is as good as this one for you to find.
