My Neurologists are talking about an ablation to my Trigeminal nerve. Since this would be a permanent outcome, losing the sensation on the rt. side of my face. I'm wondering if they can do a Trigeminal nerve block first to see if in fact it would work. I've already had an Occipital nerve block as well as a Gaserian Ganglion nerve block, neither which have worked. Now I'm in a 3 part Botox treatment cycle, which hasn't had any positive res

Hi... My doctors (Arizona Pain Specialists) are doing radio frequency ablation.  They don't sever the nerve.  They use the low frequency radio waves to "burn" the nerve endings.  I am having this done now.  In some ways, it is like they are going through the house turning off all the lights.  First the pain in my cheek and teeth was eliminated.  The next treatments (using other branches of that nerve) they got the pain in my eye and temple area.  All that remains is the referred pain that runs behind my ear to my neck.  I would look into this and see if they have it in your area of the country.
