never ending cycle

Hi all my name is Latee and so glad and thankful for a site like this just for us. I guess I shouldnt be happy that there are so many that suffer with me but it is a relief to know that I'm not alone. In my 24 years of fighting the monster I have never had a cycle that didnt go away for atleast a month. But as of the past 2 yrs all it does is switch patterns as I change the timing of things I do in my life. for example if I say I'll stay up all night and beat it to the punch. Well then the dam thing wont come til an hour after I'm sleep in the a.m. Well u all know what I mean. I have never been one for giving up so I fight the pain as best I can. I've been thru all the tests and traveling state to state, shots and blocks, needles, relaxers, and all the dam pain meds I can take.....so I'm wondering if any of u can tell me the meds for u that seem to make it worse or more often.....I've been given some meds that I try for a week or 2 and they dont help at all and just wondering if it's just me....I wont name them, I just wanna hear ur thoughts befor I start tossing them out, lol.....thanks again for letting me vent and my prayers go to all of ur relief and sound minds!

I haven't found a med that made them worse. Sadly, it's not uncommon to go from episodic to chronic. Many do. Check out melatonin to combat the nite hits. Start with 9 mg about 30 minutes before bed time, many can avoid the nite time hits that way.

Read this link o oxygen. Cheap, no side effects, fast, it's been a Godsend to many CH sufferers, worth a shot. My aborts run about 6-8 minutes. Welcome to the board, hope we can help.

I use magic mushrooms for the treatment of clusterheadaches. If they are on short supply i use RC seeds and lots of magnesum.

Pain meds to treat CH is like trying to stop an Army Tank with a water gun, for most of us. We need Vaso-constrictors. 23 yrs ago, when my CH started I took pain meds and became chronic for 2.5 yrs. Once I stopped them I changed to episodic.

Oxygen used properly (most Doc's don't understand this) is one of the best CH abortives we have. High flow oxygen.

Read around the site and you'll soon know more than most Doctors. Educating ourselves about CH and the best treatments, is in our own best interest. Everyone here, is here for help or to help others..

Best wishes,  Don
