Cool spot for a warm day

The pool in the shade is about 10'-12' deep. Seems like I'm never in hurry to leave this spot.

I bet that water is nice and refreshing.  We sure need places like that down here in this heat.

I was amazed at how many rivers y'all have in Texas. Some of my best memories are of the swim holes we'd stop at. Beautiful pics.

Makes me want to be there!  Swingin' on a rope and just dropping into the cool of the river!

Great photo, Marc!

I was the same way, Joe. I pictured all of Texas to be like El Paso until I traveled around here a bit. Tidbits that amazed me at first:

- El Paso, TX is closer to you in San Diego than it is to Beaumont, Texas.
- Texarkana, TX is about the same to Chicago as it is to El Paso.
- Beaumont, TX is closer to ST. Augustine, FL than El Paso, TX

I KNOW that you found that out already!

Here is the same river as the swimming hole shot, but upstream:

Thanks guys - I just try to capture what is placed in front of me. Most of the time I just close my eyes, press the little button and hope for the best.

You've certainly got some good composition skills and of course some amazing locations to photograph too.

I was looking at some contour maps just yesterday and was interested to note that all of America's creeks and rivers flow in the same direction.
