Have used this site for awhile...
Jul 1st, 2011 at 10:12am

However today, I FINALLY created my profile, lol. I was diagnosed about 9 years ago. I had a 3 month run of the monster and was barely able to function while I visited emergency rooms, and neurologists, and had sleep studies done, and played guinea pig to a variety of medications, many that I had allergic reactions to, which led me BACK to the emergency rooms...

This place has been a font of information for me. I can appreciate people who go with the medicine route, but based on my reactions to meds before, I am super leery about being a guinea pig again.

My "head doc" is sensitive to this, so he has welcomed things I have brought in from this site for us to try.

Anyway, i just wanted to say, thank you for keeping this site running. When you are on a 15 day run (currently), and you feel like you want to kill yourself to stop the pain, being able to come here and see the thousands who feel the same way - makes it not so bad. Its nice not to be alone.

Welcome to the board Red, glad you decided to stick your head in! Smiley

You mentioned being tired of the traditional med route. Take a look at this thread, our sister board. They use non traditional methods to abort cycles. I have never gone that route as I was in law enforcement and it would have potentially compromised my career. I have close friends on this site who have gone the cluster buster route and it's eliminated the beast from their lives, given them their old life back. Certainly worth a look see.

Under the meds section, topic "123 PF days and I think I know why." A simple, over the counter vitamin/mineral/anti inflammatory regimen that's giving relief to many. Also worth a look see.

If you're not already using 02 do look into it. There's a reason we push it so hard around here. Cheap, fast, effective, no drug side effects, hard to find anything to dislike about it.

Wishing you a short cycle this go round. Any chance you can meet us all in Nashville for our annual convention in July? Hanging with a bunch of CH'ers is an experience you'll never forget. Cheesy

Hey Red!

That was a supremely concise and info packed post Joe just made regarding the major contender therapies for obtaining non medical relief - all I can say is DITTO. Smiley

You may already be well aware of these things since you've been such a lurker,  Cheesy but I figure it can never hurt to have someone who's known the beast for 30+ years, and has been observing thousands of reports from other CH'ers (this goes for both Joe and myself) weigh in and reinforce them.

Here's to you finding some major relief with with minimal drug side effects.

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Please DO look into the oxygen route that Joe posted the link to.  I guarantee you,  won't have an allergic reaction to that drug.   Yes...it IS considered a drug and you will need a script for it from your Dr. but it seems as if you have one who is willing to work with you and that's a huge start.

Hi Red

Can I just add my support to the oxygen. I only came onto this board early this year, after my worse ever episode. I've since followed the advice and convinced my doc & neuro to get me on the O2. I've recently been starting with another episode, and I have found its use to be highly efficient in biting the beast on the arse and sending it running. What's more, no side effects.
Hope you get PF soon

Hey Red, welcome...back?  Anyway, the only thing I can add to the above, even though I am not compelled to add anything, is the energy drink tip. Slamming a Red Bull, Monster or whatever coupled with high flow O2 (=25lpm+) has also been very helpful to me and others. The taurine/caffeine combo seems to help speed the abort. Good luck, let us know how you are doing, and God bless. lance
