new member's cure with acupuncture
Jul 12th, 2011 at 10:23am

Hi everyone,I started getting cluster headaches when I was 30.They began with one a day for a month, then two a day for the 2nd month and then three a day for the 3rd month. They would last about two hours and then disappear.I got them in autumn every year. For the first two years I was given medicine by my doctor.Ergot tablets ,but I could only take a maximum of ten tabs a week, which was not enough. The 3rd year I went back to see the doctor and he had been replaced by a new doctor who also practiced acupuncture as well as western medicine. So I tried acupuncture. We had daily sessions for a week. After the 1st day the headaches started becoming less intense and shorter.By the end of the week they had disappeared entirely! So instead of 3 months of unbearable pain I had one week, without the use of drugs. Not only that ,but they didn't come back the following year. After another year they returned ,so I had another course of acupuncture for a week.Again they disappeared ,this time for five years ! Then another session and again they went away for about five years. The final acupuncture treatment was about 18 years ago and the dreaded headaches  have never returned.I am now 58 years old and I would recommend acupuncture to you.Best wishes to you all. There are times when success is the only justification that we need!

Glad you found relief. Historically, we have not seen the success you have with numerous people who have visited this board and tried accupuncture. It is an almost zero success rate, yours being the first I can recall. Hoping the remission continues, pain free time is a beautiful thing.
