Prayers needed
Aug 18th, 2011 at 12:37am

Hi all,

A long time member here who has been a tremendous help to me and a lot of you has been having some issues of late.  This person has other health issues besides CH and could really use your prayers.  This "knothead" (self-described) doesn't want to "whine", so has not said anything to anyone about the situation.  In respect to this individual's wishes I'm not even giving the gender, but God know who this person is.  I know many of your newer members here don't know this individual, but anyone who has been here for more than 3 or 4 years would know the person well.

I'd like to wring this individual's neck for not saying anything, and I have expressed that to the individual, but the problem is I'd be so busy hugging said neck I wouldn't have time to wring it!

We often get so caught up with our own woes that we forget there are others out there who are actually suffering a heavier load than are we, and often with such grace that no one would ever know about it without prying the information from them.  I know I've been feeling sorry for myself because of going through a bit of a rough patch lately that I've not been here for the newbies and others needing help nearly so much as I ought to be.  For that I'm profoundly sorry, and I'll try to make the time to be here for you, as the said individual has been for me for quite some time.  Please look about you and find someone else who is carrying a heavy load and try to help carry that load for a while.  It will actually make your own load lighter.  It doesn't even have to be a clusterhead.

Sermon ended.  Since I'm a Baptist, I guess I should take up an offering?

Jerry

Those in the crowd suffering silently, know that there's an invisible aura of fellow feeling bounding the confines of this site that doesn't loosen.  We've been within, have strayed or stayed and will support everytime from knowing.

Good thought, Jerry.

My Step-Dad...Lee...was an elder in the tiny and quaint First Baptist Church of Ashford, CT. He took me for a visit....just inside the front door was a large rope hanging through a hole in the ceiling.

Me: "What the heck is that!?

He: "Oh that...that's the bell rope"

Just delightful...not locked away in a belfry...apparently these folks believed the bell should be available for those that felt they had the need. Not being sure what the qualifications were...I asked if I could ring it!

With a twinkle in his eye, that he frequently had, he said, "Nope, you have to be a member...but if you come to a service, I have the "pull" (bwaaa-hahaa) to get you a turn".

Too bad I never took him up on it...can still picture that big ol' rope. But YOU Jer'...ARE a bell ringer!...prayers on the way....I love me some Baptists.

Best,

Jon
